2024 Ford Edge ST Redesign, Specs, Price – Is it reasonable to expect a midsize crossover designed for families to accommodate a potent engine? Yes, without a doubt, vehicles like the Ford Edge ST are the Swiss Army knives of the auto industry. With its Top Safety Pick certification from the IIHS and Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 driving assistance technologies, the 2024 Ford Edge ST is a relaxing cruiser for daily school commutes. It competes with mundane midsize cars like the Chevrolet Blazer and the Honda Passport. It’s a reminder that you can be a family man or woman and still enjoy vehicles with room for the kids and acceleration in less than six seconds from zero to sixty miles per hour. Drop off the kids and then enjoy the power of the 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 engine and standard all-wheel drive. Maybe 335 horsepower isn’t as exciting as it once was, but it sure beats lugging around a minivan. Profit from the Edge ST and enrich your life.
A few additional packages have been introduced for the 2024 model year on the lower-tier Edge models, but on the ST, almost little has changed. Nothing has changed other than adding a new paint color (Forged Green) and a few dealer-installed extras (such as a safe for the center console). However, there is a $660 price increase.

2024 Ford Edge ST Redesign
Regarding ST’s visual design, Ford hasn’t gone crazy. The ST trim level has 20-inch alloy wheels, a black hexagonal mesh grille, fake vents, LED headlights and taillights, dual exhaust pipes, and fake diffusers on the front and back lower fascias. It’s enough to show the other parents in the school parking lot that your crossover is the ideal vehicle in terms of speed.
The Edge ST is a substantial crossover at a total of 188.8 inches in length and riding on a wheelbase of 112.2 inches. It has 8.2 inches of clearance from the floor and a total height of 68.3 inches. The width is 75.9 inches when the mirrors aren’t included. The maximum weight for the standard Edge is 4,122 pounds, while the ST increases it to 4,515 pounds. The classic Edge has a small 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but the ST has a much bigger V6 engine.
There are seven distinct hues to pick from, 5 of which are free. These five are the brand-new 2024 colors of Forged Green and Agate Black, as well as the perennial favorites of Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Stone Blue, and Agate Black. Expensive color options like Rapid Red ($495) and Star White ($795) are available. The 2024 color scheme does away with Ford Performance Blue and Lithium Gray. The 21-inch gloss-black alloy wheels are a $995 add-on, but they require a separate options package that costs roughly $5,000 to install. That amounts to almost $6,000 for a set of 21-inch alloy wheels.

Interior
The 2024 Ford Edge ST cabin is large enough to comfortably accommodate four adults, making it ideal for daily commutes or long trips. While the cabin’s materials are upscale, our test car’s dashboard had a few parts that weren’t correctly aligned. Besides that, the inside is unremarkable and functional, with plenty of room for passengers and their belongings. The market for two-row crossovers is booming if trunk space is your priority. We could fit all 29 carry-on bags into the Edge with the rear seats folded down. Cargo capacity is similar to rivals, but the Edge may win buyers over with its clever storage cubbies and a somewhat larger cabin. Ford’s latest Sync 4A software interface is included on all Edge models and features a massive 12.0-inch touchscreen display. Both Android Auto and CarPlay are built-in and can connect wirelessly. Every Ford Edge comes standard with a Wi-Fi hotspot; however, navigation displays in the dashboard must be purchased separately.
The Edge can carry five people, but an adult might find the middle seat in the back uncomfortable on a lengthy drive. There is enough room for passengers in the back, and the ST’s front seats are nicely done, providing plenty of support for quick driving. A ten-way power seat adjustment for the front passengers and a memory function for the driver is also included. It’s also worth noting that you can reach for and tweak the buttons on the center console without bringing your eyes off the road, which is nice because we’re not huge fans of the arrangement. The front seats offer 42.6 inches of legroom, and the back seats provide 40.6 inches, which is still very comfortable. Passengers in the front seats have an ample 40.2 inches of headroom, while those in the back receive a slightly larger 40.3 inches. While large bucket seats sometimes compromise rear legroom, the Edge ST manages to avoid this pitfall.

Engine
Unlike the other Edge models, the ST does not use Ford’s standard 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. A 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 producing 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque are what you get instead. A seven-speed automatic transmission transfers power to an all-wheel-drive setup. While the powertrain is superb, you must ask if the extra weight above a regular car is necessary. It turns out that’s the case because Ford claims the ST can go from 0 to 60 mph in under six seconds. Accordingly, the increased strength is sufficient to overcome the heavier load.
A larger engine and ST badges aren’t all the ST offer because power is nothing without command. You can see that the ST is still a tall vehicle by the way it handles corners. Nonetheless, the improved suspension does a great job of limiting the amount of body lean. The ST improves upon the standard model in terms of enjoyment, but it won’t exactly have you rolling on the floor with laughter. The Edge ST can pull up to 3,500 pounds, making it a practical choice for towing. The ST is the most miniature fuel-efficient Edge model because of its extra two cylinders. EPA estimates for city, highway, and mixed driving are 19, 25, and 21 mpg. To put that in perspective, the Edge’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine achieves 20/28/23 mpg. Even though the numbers demonstrate a discrepancy, that difference is not significant enough to discourage environmentally conscious consumers. It is estimated that the Edge’s 18.5-gallon tank can travel 388 miles before refilling.
