2024 Ford Expedition Limited Models, Redesign

Posted on July 31, 2022

2024 Ford Expedition Limited Models, Redesign – The 2024 Ford Expedition competes with the Chevrolet Tahoe, the GMC Yukon, and the Nissan Armada in the full-size SUV sector. The Expedition’s MSRP ranges from $55,000 to more than $81,200, with six different trim levels. However, there is only one engine to choose from among the several trims. 380 horsepower and 470 pounds-feet of torque are provided by the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 and 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine’s 6.2-second acceleration from a standstill to 60 mph and 9,300-pound towing capacity are made possible by this engine. In the Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum trim levels, the same engine produces 400 hp and 480 lb-ft more torque. As a result, it is only available with the Stealth Performance Package, which boosts it to 440 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.

We prefer cars with actual names rather than just a random string of letters and numbers. This is specifically true with vehicles like the Ford Expedition, which has a suitable moniker. Effortless and to the point. Ford has the car for you if you want to embark on an adventure. According to the definition of the word in the old days, it is when a group sets out on a mission to discover something new. These trips may be for study, exploration, or military purposes. We can expand the “family vacation” concept to include less exciting activities like going to the mall or camping, even if you’re not planning on doing any of those things. The new Limited trim is mainly concerned with the last of these activities. Ford says that its car has better ground clearance than the latest model of the Jeep Wagoneer.

A full-size SUV can only accomplish so much in terms of the overall shape. To give a full-size truck or SUV a distinctive appearance, designers must rely on its grille, headlights, fenders, and taillights. Thanks to new visual features like the grille, taillights, and wheels, this year’s Expedition is a touch more fascinating to look at. Ford’s design team invests in the front end and the alloy wheels to carry the load. To create an intimidating presence, the grille and headlights complement each other. LED reflector headlamps are standard equipment on all models, even the entry-level ones. Ember Red tow hooks, steel skid plates, a Twin Spar Black grille, and Timberline badges are just some of the specific features of the new Timberline. Wheels can be as little as 18 inches or as large as 22 inches in diameter. Higher up the line, a panoramic moonroof is included as standard equipment.

There are four exterior color options for the base XL STX trim: Forged Green, Agate Black, and Iconic Silver Metallic, as well as Oxford White for those who want to pay more. Color options for the XLT include Infinite Blue ($495), Dark Matter, Star White ($795/$795), Stone Blue (495), and Rapid Red (495) metallic accents. Timberline’s darker exterior trim and orange accents remove Rapid Red and Iconic Silver from the color palette. The top two trims also have a few adjustments, but they don’t add any new colors to the ones currently listed. With the Stealth Package, the grille, headlight bezels, and tailgate appliqué are all of Ebony Black, which gives the Expedition a sinister look.

Interior

As the Expedition’s trim levels rise, so does the quality of its interior materials and small pieces, culminating in the Platinum model’s luxurious leather upholstery and massaging front seats. Like most competitors, adults won’t feel cramped in the regular or long-wheelbase Expedition Max. The inside cubby space in the Max is just unparalleled. For the second row, a bench with three seats is standard, while captain’s chairs are available as an option. Power-folding third-row seats are standard on all models, and they may be operated from the cargo area or the backseats. The two and third rows can be folded flat to create a level loading surface.

Ford’s Sync4 infotainment system is preinstalled on Expedition’s standard 12.0-inch touchscreen. If the regular 7-inch touchscreen isn’t big enough, the Expedition may be equipped with a 15.5-inch touchscreen mounted vertically, just like the one seen in the Mustang Mach-battery-electric E’s variant. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto are included, as is the option to accept upgrades over the air. All of these features, including a Bang & Olufsen radio with 22 speakers and a DVD player in the back seat, are available for an additional fee.

Engine

The 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine from the 2024 model year is projected to be carried over to the 2024 Ford Expedition. The standard Expedition has a 375-horsepower V6 engine, but the V6 can be upgraded to 400 hp and 510 lb-ft in higher trims. For $2,050 more, you may upgrade to a 4-wheel-drive system, which uses all of the engine’s power to move the front wheels. Rumors have circulated that the 3.5L Powerboost V6 hybrid from the F-150, which produces 430 hp, may be available as an engine option. The Ford Expedition has a 0-60 mph time of 6.2 seconds, a quarter-mile duration of 14.8 seconds, and a top speed of 125 mph. With the Platinum trim, the time drops to 5.7 seconds. The towing capability of the Expedition 2024 is 9,300 pounds. In terms of horsepower, the Nissan Armada is the most powerful, with 400 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds. GM’s Yukon and Tahoe, which both have 355 hp, follow the Ford Expedition, which has 375 hp and is the fastest of the three vehicles in this group.

This type of heavy-duty hauler is not going to help conserve fossil fuels in any way. A twin-turbocharged V-6 is said to be more efficient than a V-8 by Ford, but the Expedition doesn’t live up to that claim. All-wheel-drive models are rated at 22 mpg on the highway, while the rear-drive model is rated at 17 mpg city. The Expedition and Expedition Max achieved 20 mpg on our 75-mph fuel-economy route. This is part of our thorough testing regimen. Visit the EPA’s website to learn more about the Expedition’s gas mileage.

2024 Ford Expedition Limited Release Date and Price

MSRP starts at $52,620 for the XL STX model. The XLT trim starts at $56,685, and the Limited is available for $65,835, which is a big rise in price. You can get a brand-new Timberline with a basic 4×4 for $69,695. The MSRP for the King Ranch is $76,355, while the Platinum spec is only a tad more at $78,805. This includes Ford’s $1,795 delivery fee.
