2024 Ford Expedition Platinum Models, Specs, Release Date – The 2024 Ford Expedition is one of many full-size SUVs on the market. It competes with models like the Chevrolet Tahoe, the GMC Yukon, and the Nissan Armada. The Expedition’s price ranges from $55,000 (for the base model) to over $81,200 (for the highest trim level). Although there is only one engine option, not all packages are created equal. The base model comes with a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission, good for 380 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. With this motor, the Expedition can hit 60 mph from a stop in 6.2 seconds and tow 9,300 pounds. In the top-tier Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum models, the same engine produces 400 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. These numbers go up to 440 hp and 480 lb-ft, respectively, with the Timberline model and the Stealth Performance Package.

These journeys can be undertaken for various reasons, including exploration, discovery, and military action. There’s a good chance you won’t be doing any of those things as a family, but we can expand the definition to include more commonplace outings like taking the kids to and from school, shopping, and camping. The new Timberline package is best suited for the last of these uses. Ford is proud that it has higher ground clearance than the new Jeep Wagoneer.

2024 Ford Expedition Platinum Redesign
The overall form of a full-size SUV is limited in its customization options. Full-size trucks and SUVs rely on grille, headlights, fenders, and taillights to be visually distinct. Thankfully, the updated grille, taillights, and wheels give the newest Expedition a more exciting appearance. Ford puts most of its design emphasis on the front end and the alloys. The combination of the grille and headlights creates a bold front. Now even the most basic models have LED reflector headlamps as standard equipment. Ember Red tow hooks up front, steel skid plates, a Twin Spar Black grille, and Timberline badging make the new Timberline stand out. The wheels can be anywhere between 18 and 22 inches in diameter. Upper-level models come standard with a panoramic moonroof.
Forged Green Metallic, Agate Black Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic, and Oxford White are the four standard exterior colors available to XL STX buyers at no additional cost. The XLT is the next stage up and offers a much more comprehensive range of colors, with metallic additions including Infinite Blue ($495), Dark Matter ($495), Star White ($795), Stone Blue ($495), and Rapid Red ($495). The Timberline has a darker exterior with orange accents and fewer bright colors like Rapid Red and Iconic Silver. There are a few tweaks created to the upper two trims, but no new hues have been added. The Stealth Package, when added to Expeditions capable of using it, gives the vehicle a sinister appearance by giving it a black grille, black headlight bezels, and a black tailgate applique.

Interior
For example, the Expedition’s Platinum trim comes with luxurious leather upholstery and massaging front seats, demonstrating how the vehicle’s interior decor progressively improves with higher trim levels. The interiors of the standard Expedition and the long-wheelbase Expedition Max are roomy. Unlike most competitors, adults will be comfortable riding in the third row of the latter. The second row typically has a bench with three seats, but you can opt for two captain’s chairs instead. In terms of built-in compartments, the Max is unrivaled. Every model’s third row of seats can be folded electrically and operated from the trunk or rear seats. The middle and back seats collapse, creating a flat loading surface.
The Expedition’s colossal 12.0-inch touchscreen runs Ford’s Sync4 infotainment system as standard equipment. It supports wireless CarPlay and Android Auto integration and over-the-air software updates. In addition to the 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo and the rear seat entertainment system, there is also a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. A 15.5-inch touchscreen is optional for the Expedition, and it is the same size as the one found in the battery-powered Mustang Mach-E, so there’s no need to feel cramped.

Engine
The 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine is expected to return in the 2024 Ford Expedition. In its base form, the engine produces 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque; however, in the higher trim levels of the Expedition, the V6 is capable of producing 400 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The machine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the rear wheels as standard and the front wheels and rear axle if 4WD is selected for an additional $2,050. There have also been whispers that the F-150’s 3.5L Powerboost V6 hybrid engine, good for 430 hp, will be an available option. The Ford Expedition can reach a maximum speed of 125 miles per hour, complete the quarter-mile in 14.8 seconds, and reach 60 miles per hour in 6.2 seconds (or 5.7 seconds with the Platinum trim). The towing capacity of the New 2024 Expedition is 9,300 pounds. The Nissan Armada has the fastest acceleration (from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds) and the most power (400 hp). The Ford Expedition comes in second with 375 hp, followed by the Yukon and Tahoe from General Motors, which have 355 hp but are slower than the Expedition.
Heavy-duty trucks like these don’t do anything to help the environment. Ford says that the Expedition’s EcoBoost engine, a twin-turbocharged V-6, gets better gas mileage than a V-8, but it doesn’t work out that way. The front-wheel-drive model gets 17/23 mpg in the city/highway, while the all-wheel-drive model gets 22/23 mpg. 2024 Ford Expedition Platinum Release Date and Price
The XL STX is the entry-level model at a suggested retail price of $52,620. The base price of an XLT model is $56,685, and the top-of-the-line Limited model can be purchased for $65,835. It costs $69,695 for the new Timberline’s base 4×4 configuration. The price starts at $76,355 for the King Ranch and goes up to $78,805 for the Platinum Spec. Ford’s $1,795 destination fee is not included in these prices. The 2024 Ford Expedition is scheduled to debut in the summer of that year in the United States.
