2024 Ford Expedition Timberline Colors, Interior, MPG

Posted on August 14, 2022

2024 Ford Expedition Timberline Colors, Interior, MPG – The Chevrolet, GMC Yukon, and Nissan Armada are just a few of the other full-size SUVs that the 2024 Ford Expedition will be competing against. Price tags for the Expedition range from a low of $55,000 (for the basic model) to a high of almost $81,200 (for the highest trim level). There is one engine option, but not all trim levels are created equal. To get things going, there is a 3.5L Twin-Turbocharged V6 mated to a 10-Speed Automatic transmission, which produces 380 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. With this powerplant, the Expedition can go from 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds and tow up to 9,300 pounds. The same engine produces 400 hp and 480 lb-ft in the more expensive Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum models. These numbers go up to 440 hp and 480 lb-ft, respectively, with the Timberline model and the Stealth Performance Package.

Cars with meaningful names, like the Ford Expedition, are much more appealing to us than those with random numerical or alphabetic designations. A concise and uncomplicated statement. If you’re looking for an excursion vehicle, Ford has you covered. The traditional use of the word describes a group of people who go out to discover something. These trips might be for exploration, scientific inquiry, or military purposes. You probably won’t be doing any of those things as a family, but we can expand the concept to include taking the kids to and from school, shopping, and camping. The new Timberline package is tailored especially for the third option. Ford quickly highlights how much higher it rides off the ground than the latest Jeep Wagoneer.

Full-size SUVs have limited design freedom due to their bulky dimensions. To make a full-size truck or SUV stand out, designers focus on the grille, headlights, fenders, and taillights. Thanks to updated features on the front grille, rear lights, and wheels, the newest Expedition has a more modern and thrilling appearance than in years past. Ford puts much of its design emphasis on the front end and the alloys. Both the grille and the headlights blend to create a formidable front. Even the most basic vehicles currently have LED reflector headlights as standard equipment. The new Timberline has unique touches like bright red tow hooks up front, steel skid plates, a black grille, and distinctive Timberline logos and lettering. The largest wheel size is 22 inches, while the smallest is 18 inches. A panoramic moonroof is a must-have near the top of the line.

The XLT is available in metallic colors such as Infinite Blue ($495), Dark Matter ($495), Star White ($795), Stone Blue ($495), and Rapid Red ($495). Forged Green Metallic, Agate Black Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic, and Oxford White are the free exterior color options for the basic XL STX trim. There are a few tweaks to the upper two tiers, but no new hues have been added to the opportunities presented. The Timberline sports a darker appearance with orange highlights and less bright colors like Rapid Red and Iconic Silver. The Stealth Package, when added to Expeditions capable of using it, gives the vehicle a sinister appearance by giving it a black grille, black headlight bezels, and a black tailgate appliqué.

Interior

The Platinum version of the Expedition comes with luxurious leather upholstery and massaging front seats, representing the pinnacle of the SUV’s interior materials and trim pieces. The third row of seats in either the standard Expedition or the long-wheelbase Expedition Max is comfortable for adults, unlike many competitors. The second row typically consists of a bench seating three people, but you can opt for two captain’s chairs instead. Within the Max, you’ll find incomparable cubby space. Every model’s third row of seats may be folded electrically and operated from the trunk or rear seats. The two and third rows may be folded flat to create a flat loading surface.

The Expedition’s massive 12.0-inch touchscreen runs Ford’s Sync4 infotainment system as standard equipment. It supports wireless CarPlay and Android Auto integration and over-the-air software upgrades. A 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen radio and a rear-seat entertainment system are included as a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. Instead of the usual 8.0-inch touchscreen, the Expedition could have a 15.5-inch one, the same size as the one in the battery-powered Mustang Mach-E.

Engine

The 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine is set to return in the Ford Expedition in 2024. In its base configuration, the engine produces 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque; however, in the Expedition’s upper trim levels, the V6 can produce 400 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. You may choose between rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (4WD) for an additional $2,050. The machine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. There have also been rumblings that the F-150’s 3.5L Powerboost V6 hybrid engine, good for 430 horses, may be an option. The Ford Expedition has a 0-60 mph pace of 6.2 seconds and can accomplish it in 5.7 seconds with the Platinum trim, a quarter-mile time of 14.2 seconds, and a peak speed of 125 mph. The towing capacity of the Expedition is 9,300 pounds. The Nissan Armada has the best acceleration (0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds) and the highest power output (400 horsepower). The Ford Expedition comes in second with 375 hp, followed by the Yukon and Tahoe from General Motors, each of which has 355 hp but is slower than the Expedition.

Heavy-duty trucks like this don’t do much to benefit the environment. Ford advertises the Expedition’s EcoBoost engine (a twin-turbocharged V-6) as more fuel-efficient than a V-8, but in practice, it falls short. Fuel economy for the rear-wheel drive model is 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, but for the all-wheel drive model, that figure decreases to 22 mpg. On our 75 mph fuel-economy route, part of our thorough testing program, the Expedition and the Expedition Max averaged 20 mpg. Check the EPA’s webpage for specifics on the Expedition’s gas mileage.

2024 Ford Expedition Timberline Release Date and Price

The base model, the XL STX, is listed at $52,620. The base price of an XLT model is $56,685, while the top-of-the-line Limited model can be purchased for $65,835. The cost of a new Timberline with standard 4×4 starts at $69,695. The price starts at $76,355 for the King Ranch and goes up to $78,805 for the Platinum Spec. All of Ford’s advertised pricing is without the $1,795 destination fee. The 2024 Ford Expedition is scheduled to debut in the summer of that year in the United States.
