2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty Engine, Redesign, Release Date

Posted on September 24, 2022

2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty Engine, Redesign, Release Date – Ford’s Model TT truck was launched in the American pickup truck industry in 1917. Since then, the brand has never looked back, and then came the legendary F Series trucks. Under “SuperDuty,” Ford made versions of the F-150 that were much bigger, more powerful, and built for heavy-duty work. A heavy-duty pickup truck is the best option when transporting huge cargo over long distances. The 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty, a member of the same family as the most popular vehicle in the United States, is one of the most competent pickups available, with a maximum towing capability of 22,800 pounds. Additionally, it can transport 4,260 pounds of freight in the bed. This is almost the same as rivals like the Ram 2500 and a little more than the GMC Sierra 2500 HD.

Like many other pickups, the Ford is highly customizable, with many body layouts and engine options. It is even available with the Tremor Package, making it an exceptional off-roader. There is very little this pickup cannot accomplish, and it does so with beautiful looks, and a reasonable amount of technology inside is a significant plus. But is this enough to get most of the market share in this very competitive segment?

Mechanically, the rugged pickup is unaltered. This year, there are new exterior and interior color options and a new aesthetic package, the Lariat Sport Appearance Package, which features platform running boards, a chrome exhaust tip, and body-color bumpers. The larger 12-inch touchscreen is compatible with Sync4, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

There is a significant difference between the entry-level XL workhorse and the top-of-the-line Limited trim, although all versions share specific design characteristics. The current design of Ford’s headlights and taillights is pretty well-known. Black-painted 17-inch steel wheels, a black grille, and bumpers are standard on-base versions. The model identifier “Super Duty” is stamped onto the black plastic surrounding the grille. Premium variants feature additional chrome, a grille with a satin finish, and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. At least the Lariat is required for ordinary fog lamps, and the King Ranch is needed for LED box lighting. The Platinum and Limited have LED headlights with four beams, LED fog lamps, and LED taillights. The Limited includes a power moonroof as standard equipment.

The 2024 F-250 is offered in an extensive array of variants. Two cargo box options are available: an eight-foot bed and a conventional six-foot-and-three-quarters box. The Regular Cab is the shortest, with a total length of 231.8 inches. Long-wheelbase Crew Cabs are the longest at 266.2 inches. The Regular Cab has a wheelbase of 141.6 inches, while the SuperCab is available in 148- and 164.2-inch configurations. The SWB Crew Cab has a 159.8-inch wheelbase, whereas the LWB Crew has a 176-inch wheelbase. With the mirrors included, the width of each model is 105.9 inches, while the overall height varies between 78.9 and 81.5 inches, depending on the variant. The ground clearance ranges from 8.5 to 8.7 inches. The vehicle with the most negligible curb weight is the Regular Cab 4×2 with the 6.2-liter V8 engine. It is 5,677 pounds in weight. A long-wheelbase 4×4 Crew Cab with the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel is the heaviest variant at 7,538 pounds. Maximum approach/breakover/departure angles are 17.9/24.4/21.6 degrees, but these are trim-specific statistics.

Even at the XL trim level, Ford offers a wide range of color options, allowing you to add a suggestion of flair to your workhorse. The no-cost color possibilities for the XL Regular Cab workhorse include Race Red, Stone Gray, Agate Black, Iconic Silver, Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Gray, and Oxford White. This year, Atlas Blue is a new color option, bringing this model’s total number of available hues to eight. The XLT trim adds Rapid Red, the first color available, for an additional $395 fee. Star White is offered as a $595 upgrade on the Lariat, and Stone Gray and Carbonized Gray are known as secondary colors for two-tone paint jobs on this trim level. The King Ranch is also open in a two-tone color scheme, but only in Stone Gray. However, two-tone paints can only be used with specific hues from the primary color pallet. Race Red, Carbonized Gray, and Iconic Silver are unavailable due to the King Ranch. The color options for the Premium Platinum and Limited trims are slightly more limited. Oxford White and Race Red are not available at this level.

Interior

The 2024 Ford F-250 XL trim inside is enormous and roomy from the get-go. The CrewCab versions provide ample space and excellent views within the cabin. The standard trim lacks several functions, yet it is highly functional and does not have a bare-bones appearance. The XLT trim adds several attractive and functional extras, making the truck an ideal daily companion. The seats stand upholstered in fabric, and the dashboard has numerous harsh plastic surfaces, but the build quality is exceptional. The RAM 2500 is the most luxurious and technologically advanced vehicle among its competitors. But the GMC Sierra 2500 and Chevrolet Silverado 2500 have the most legroom and headroom, so tall drivers and passengers will find them more comfortable.

Standard on XL vehicles is a non-touch display for their infotainment systems. The XLT is provided with an 8.0-inch touchscreen that has Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. It is also upgradable with a 10-speaker B&O stereo system and SiriusXM satellite radio, which requires a monthly subscription beyond the initial three months. A pair of enormous volume and tuning knobs and additional physical buttons on the steering wheel give the system an intuitive feel. The remainder of the lineup offers a 12-inch touchscreen with Sync 4 software, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wirelessly. Larger cabs can have up to two 110-volt power outlets and enough accessory outlets to light up a Guns N’ Roses concert.

Engine

The choice between the three available engines for the 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty depends on the application. The basic 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine is a dependable workhorse, while the optional 7.3-liter 430-hp V8 engine provides remarkable straight-line performance. The most powerful available engine is a 6.7-liter turbodiesel with 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque, allowing for excellent midrange pull and effortless towing. Standard on every model is rear-wheel drive; however, a part-time four-wheel-drive system is available. The maximum fifth-wheel/gooseneck towing capacity for the F-250 is 22,800 pounds when equipped with the diesel engine and the 4×2 Regular Cab. The maximum conventional towing capacity is 20,000 pounds, which applies to specific diesel-powered models. If you choose the 7.3-liter gas engine, the traditional towing capacity is reduced to 15,000 pounds.

The EPA does not officially rate huge vehicles such as the F-250. We combed through several Web forums for diesel-related data. For the record, during a week with a 7.3-liter F-250, we averaged 11 mpg. The consumption increased to 14.6 mpg on the highway. Owners report fuel economy figures as high as 17 mpg, with 14 mpg being the more typical amount.

Consequently, the 48-gallon tank should let it travel a great 672 miles between fill-ups. However, only crew cabs with a larger wheelbase are equipped with a 48-gallon fuel tank. The more minor variants have either a 29-gallon or 34-gallon fuel tank.

2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty Release Date and Price

The price of the 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL starts at $38,445, followed by the $43,470 XLT and the $51,855 Lariat. After this, the large vehicle becomes significantly more expensive. King Ranch MSRP is $66,845, Platinum MSRP is $70,160, and Limited MSRP is a whopping $88,880. These prices reflect the trims’ cheapest configuration, body style, and powerplant. You must also account for the $1,795 destination charge in the United States. Due to the plethora of available combinations, the prices for each trim can be much higher than those shown. For instance, if you upgrade from the Regular Cab to the Crew Cab, the base XL will be $3,590 more expensive. On the same trim, the cost to upgrade from 4×2 to 4×4 is $2,790, while the cost to add a strong diesel engine is $10,495. The release of the 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty is anticipated for the summer of 2024 in the United States.
