2024 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium, Availability, Engine – In a world infatuated with energy, manufacturers now prioritize supplying hybrid automobiles in their most lucrative market segments. The third-generation Ford Fusion will feature two hybrid siblings, one standard and one plug-in, despite Ford’s plans to halt the manufacture of several sedans in the United States in favor of crossovers. A 2.0-liter Ecoboost gasoline four-cylinder engine and an electric motor combine to produce 188 horsepower in the Fusion Hybrid. The front wheels receive power via a continuously variable automatic gearbox. This article concentrates on the former since it makes fewer concessions and is the more accessible mixed companion for daily usage.
The Ford hybrid midsize car competes with younger, segment-leading vehicles such as the Honda Accord Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid, and Kia Optima Hybrid. Does it contribute anything, or is it condemned to reside in the halls of mediocrity until its dying day? The 2024 Ford Fusion Hybrid stays unchanged except for a few front seat modifications that Ford considered unnecessary.

2024 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium Redesign.
The Ford Fusion has a traditional look for a midsize sedan, with a long front overhang, four doors, and a short rear end. The SE and SEL have aluminum wheels measuring 17 inches with a brilliant silver finish, while the Titanium gets alloy wheels measuring 18 inches with a premium finish. All variants have a single exhaust tip and body-colored bumpers and door handle, except the SEL and Titanium models, which include chrome inserts in the door handles. The Titanium is different from cheaper versions, which have a traditional five-bar grille because it has a chrome mesh grille and a spoiler on the back of the decklid. LED headlights and trademark illumination are limited to the SEL and higher trim levels, although all trim levels include LED taillights.
Height and curb weight are the only variations between the gas and hybrid Fusions. Both versions have equal length and breadth measurements of 191.8 inches and 72.9 inches, except for the mirrors. The hybrid is 58 inches long, while the gasoline variant measures 59 inches in length. Its height and weight are the only differences between it and the GE gasoline counterpart. The curb weight of all hybrid vehicles is 3,668 pounds, almost 200 pounds greater than the curb weight of the gasoline model, which is 3,472 pounds.

Interior
From cloth seats to quilted leather, the inside of the Fusion may be either functional or luxurious. The car’s several interior trims are comparable to its competitors, but drivers of the base model may feel misled when they enter the opulent Platinum model. The gas-powered Fusion has the same cargo capacity as most of its competitors. Still, the hybrid and plug-in variants sacrifice substantial trunk room for their battery packs. The tested Fusion Energi could only accommodate two carry-on bags, but the standard Fusion could fit six. The Fusion’s infotainment options range from distinctly 2000s to contemporary. The Ford Sync 3 system is available on several trim levels, and we found it user-friendly and responsive. We have never, however, tested the base model. The Sync 3 system is user-friendly due to its reliance on touch inputs and voice instructions. It is a significant improvement over Ford’s previous efforts.
Because both the hybrid electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid Fusion (HEV and PHEV) utilize an onboard battery pack, the HEV offers 12 cubic feet of trunk capacity compared to 16 cubic feet for the gasoline Fusion. There is just enough room for a couple of backpacks, duffels, a briefcase, and a small shopping bag. The rear seats stay folded in a 60/40 configuration, which maximizes room and flexibility. However, storage flexibility is still limited by a significant step in the trunk’s back due to the atypical battery location. There are four cupholders total, two in the front and two in the rear. All of the door pockets are too small to hold bottles. The center console has a small cubby, and the glove box on the passenger side is also tiny.

Engine
The 2024 Fusion Hybrid’s 2.0-liter inline-four Atkinson cycle engine with 141 horsepower and 129 pound-feet of torque is linked with an 88 kW electric motor to generate a combined maximum output of 188 horsepower. This output is only transferred to the front wheels using a hybrid-specification continuously variable automatic gearbox. The sprint from 0 to 60 miles/hour takes nine seconds, which is standard for the class but is bested by the Toyota Camry’s time of 7.5 seconds. The accelerator pedal takes considerable force to get the hybrid, whether accelerating from a halt or overtaking at high speed. The Fusion Hybrid is generally straightforward to use at low to moderate rates. The CVT is likewise well-matched to the engine; it is unremarkable but as smooth as it should be. However, avoid interstate excursions at high speeds since the power plant suffers at these speeds.
At 43/41/42 mpg as determined by the EPA, the Fusion Hybrid seems exceptionally fuel-efficient, at least compared to the average gasoline-powered vehicle. In comparison, it is predicted that the Honda Insight and Toyota Camry hybrids score a combined 52 mpg, making them slightly worse combinations. The Fusion Hybrid can drive up to 588 miles on a single gas tank, thanks to its 14-gallon fuel tank. It operates on ordinary unleaded gasoline and features a 1,4-kWh battery pack that is automatically charged by the hybrid’s regenerative braking technology.
2024 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium Date and price
The Fusion Hybrid SE is the base model, and its $28,000 price is the portfolio’s starting point. The $31,630 Fusion Hybrid SEL is the well-equipped model in the middle of the lineup (MSRP). The most costly model is the Fusion Hybrid Titanium, with a suggested retail price of $34,595. These prices exclude Ford’s $995 destination fee and $645 acquisition fee and any applicable taxes, registration fees, and licensing fees. Even though these prices are not very competitive, they are typical for the category, and further dealer-specific reductions may be available. The release of the 2024 Ford Fusion Hybrid is anticipated for the summer of 2024 in the United States.
