2024 Ford Maverick Changes, AWD, Colors

Posted on August 10, 2022

2024 Ford Maverick Changes, AWD, Colors – The Hyundai Santa Cruz Crew Cab is the primary rival of the 2024 Ford Maverick SuperCrew in the small pickup truck sector. With three different trim levels available, prices range from an MSRP of $21,490 for the entry-level XL to an MSRP of $27,355 for the highest-end Lariat. Choosing the perfect Maverick is easy due to the wide variety of body types and interior features. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions of the Maverick SuperCrew’s thrilling engine are available.

The standard powertrain is a 2.5-liter inline-4 paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which generates 193 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. With this motor, you can pull up to 2,000 pounds. A second option is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 mated to an 8-Speed Automatic transmission, which can provide 250 horsepower and 4,000 pounds of towing capability.

The Lariat trim level features body-color door and tailgate handles, while the basic model makes do with black versions. All XL models come equipped with LED headlights, although the base model has to make do with 17-inch steel wheels. For wheels, the XLT gets 17-inch alloys, the Lariat gets 18-inch alloys, and the First Edition Package adds black wheels. Several convenient options for transporting and stowing your stuff include six-bed tie-downs and Ford’s Flex system. Pickup box extension, cargo bed liner, and tonneau cover are available as extras.

Maybe we won’t see so many drab tones on the road now that Ford has so many exciting color options. The standard Maverick comes in seven different paint schemes. These include shades of black, white, grey, brown, blue, and green, such as Velocity Blue, Iconic Silver, and Carbonized Gray. To emphasize the affordability of the base model, Ford will not charge you more for any of these hues. Alto Blue Metallic ($390), Cyber Orange Metallic ($495), and Hot Pepper Metallic ($390) join the already bright palette of the XLT’s upper trim levels. Rapid Red Metallic is available on the Lariat, although it requires the pricier Lariat and First Edition options and the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite.

Interior

Every Maverick is a crew cab with four regular-sized doors and a wide backseat. Ford has equipped several compartments for stowing items inside, including a sizable room beneath the back seats. While not very luxurious, even the most basic trims have features like a telescopic and tilting steering wheel with audio managing, keyless entry, and front seats with adjustable lumbar support. Dual-zone automatic temperature control, ambient interior lighting, and power front seats are just a few of the luxuries that come standard or as part of the XLT and Lariat option packages.

Ford claims that 18 sheets of 4′ x 8′ x 3/4″ plywood may be loaded vertically into the Maverick’s 4.5-foot bed. There is a 12-volt power port built into the bed, with a 110-volt alternative available. Every Maverick is equipped with a state-of-the-art infotainment system controlled by an 8.0-inch touchscreen. The cheapest model even has a Wi-Fi hotspot and comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features. A SiriusXM satellite radio update, a B&O Play sound system update, and wireless smartphone charging are all available as extras.

Engine

The new Maverick has two engine options, the first of which is a hybrid at the base trim level. It combines the power of a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle inline-four engine and an electric traction engine for a total output of 193 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque. The maximum torque of the four-cylinder engine doesn’t show up until 4,000 rpm. This model comes standard with a CVT and is pretty refined and subtle. The Maverick is a hybrid pickup with a continuously variable transmission, which may make some truck purists roll their eyes. If you ease off the gas pedal just enough, it will move away from a halt using only the electric motor. It’s a peaceful sensation.

The 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine is best for those seeking brisk acceleration or all-wheel drive availability. It generates 252 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and delivers significantly more peppy acceleration. The eight-speed gears shift smoothly and promptly whenever acceleration is required. The EcoBoost is the faster of the two, but it makes a harsh noise when pushed, while the hybrid’s engine is smooth and quiet.

2024 Ford Maverick Release Date and Price

The 2024 Ford Maverick is scheduled to debut in the summer of that year in the United States. Excluding the $1,495 destination fee, the basic XL hybrid model costs just $19,995. Adding the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine will cost an additional $1,085, and including AWD with the EcoBoost engine will cost an additional $3,305. The price of the XLT, which is in the middle of the range, is $22,280, while the Lariat, which is fully loaded, goes for $25,490. Pay the same price as the XL if you want the EcoBoost engine or the EcoBoost with an all-wheel drive.
