Still, they can’t see yourself spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on Italian exotica. Okay, so it wasn’t the primary motivation for building the car, but having a Mustang that sounds like a Fezza is still pretty great. The GT350 and GT350R, with prices of $60,440 and $73,435, respectively, are designed to give their owners a thrilling driving experience on the road and on the racetrack. The GT350’s slyly dubbed 5.2-liter Voodoo V8 generates 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque; the R model gains one horsepower and sheds a lot of weight. That high-pitched howl comes from the flat-plane crank in this driver’s car, but the actual trick parts are in the suspension and on the body. Rear-wheel drive and six-speed manual transmission are the only available options, as they should be to keep posers and the lazy away from this enthusiast’s vehicle.
Unless one of the new color options—Twister Orange, Grabber Lime, Iconic Silver, or Rapid Red—is chosen, the alterations are difficult to see on the outside. 2024 Ford Mustang GT3 Redesign
The GT350 is a vehicle that incorporates some of the best features of the existing Mustang and makes enough subtle changes to signal knowledgeable drivers that it is a unique vehicle. With carbon-fiber wheels, an assertive chin spoiler, and a carbon rear wing, the GT350R takes things to the next level. The three-bar taillights and LED daytime running lights are still present, and the front air dam has been tightened to increase downforce and improve turn-in. It featured the most significant interior storage capacity among competitors and held the second-most carry-on baggage in our testing. The back seat may be folded and stowed by pulling a strap. The Mustang can carry up to 12 carry-on bags. The Ford has the giant center console bin of the rivals we tested.
Ford’s optional Sync 3 infotainment system boasts an easy-to-use interface and a neat look. Although it isn’t as quick or powerful as some competitors, it does include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and great sound. A Wi-Fi hotspot is provided for the Mustang. As a standard feature, Ford Sync Connect enables owners to monitor and operate their vehicles via a smartphone app. The figures provided here are for coupe versions of the Mustang and Camaro, and the former appears to have more room than the latter. The Challenger offers the best overall room availability and cargo volume because of its broader body. Regarding convertibles, Ford exhibits a minor improvement in head and legroom in the back, while the Camaro displays no discernible modifications.
The GT350 is a genuinely distinctive model in the lineup of Mustangs since it is the only one known with a six-speed manual transmission. Additionally, it is the only vehicle equipped with the sinisterly dubbed 5.2-liter Voodoo V8 that generates 429 lb-ft of torque and 526 horsepower in the GT350 and 527 horsepower in the GT350R. Whichever version you choose, the engine will undoubtedly make you smile.
Despite significantly different weights, the GT350 and GT350R had the same EPA ratings of 14/21/16 mpg in the city/highway/combined cycles. The upcoming Dodge Challenger SRT Widebody is better in this aspect, which achieves 16/13/21 mpg with its six-speed manual transmission. That vehicle will, however, have far less downforce than the GT350. With mixed driving, Shelby’s 16-gallon fuel tank allows for an estimated 256-mile range.
