2024 Ford Ranger Redesign, Specs, Release Date – Ford’s core truck portfolio is now complete with the introduction of the all-new midsize Ranger. The new F-150 and Maverick were both released during the past few months. The Ranger shown here was previously revealed for international markets, but the one coming to the US for the 2023 model year will look remarkably similar. The new Ranger joins a competitive market with a more serious look, a more capable chassis, and a more adaptable cargo compartment, as was to be expected. The Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado are formidable rivals, but the new Ranger appears capable of taking them on.
The 2024 Ford Ranger SuperCrew competes with the Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab, the Honda Ridgeline Crew Cab, and the Jeep Gladiator Crew Cab as part of the midsize pickup truck sector. An MSRP of $27,000 will get you a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. You’ll still get the same machine no matter which of the three trim levels you choose. The 0–60 mph time drops to 6.5 seconds with this engine’s output of 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, and it comes standard with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. With its single 5’1″ cab, the Ford Ranger SuperCrew can carry 1,860 pounds of cargo. In addition, it has a respectable 7,500-pound towing capability.

The new Ranger is a more authoritarian and assured truck compared to its predecessor. Those in the market for a pickup truck will appreciate the more assertive stance provided by, the wider grille and higher, more squared-off hood. Twin bars, reminiscent of those on the smaller Maverick, run through the grille and into the rounded “C-clamp” headlamps. For the first time, and hopefully, matrix LED headlights will be available in the US. Although the rear design is unremarkable, the wheel wells are now more noticeable. However, it is a lovely truck that should find many takers. Certain trims, like the Wildtrak, feature unique wheels and a rougher body covering.
The Ranger’s proportions are variant-specific, as they are with most pickups. The bed length of the Ford Ranger 4-door SuperCab is 6 feet. Both the 4×2 and 4×4 variants stand at 70.7 inches in height. The mattress height is 20.8 inches, the length is 72.8 inches, the width is 44.8 inches, and the width is 61.4 inches at its broadest. It can hold up to 51.8 cubic feet of cargo. The SuperCrew 4×4 can be in two heights, either 71.1 (4×2) or 71.5 (4×4) inches. It has four doors and a shorter-than-usual five-foot bed (61 inches). The bed is 20.8 inches high, but the dimensions are identical to those of the SuperCab. Cargo space, however, is only 43.3 cubic feet due to its shorter length. The maximum size for any Ranger is 210.8 inches, while the full width, excluding the mirrors, is 73.3 inches. All Ranger models share the same standard wheelbase length of 126.8 inches. Both the 4×2 and 4×4 variants have an 8.4-inch ground clearance.
To start, the XL Super Cab can be in one of eight hues. This group includes Race Red, Hot Pepper Red (with the STX Appearance package), Velocity Blue, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Cactus Gray (with the STX Appearance package), Oxford White, and Shadow Black. Both the XLT and the Lariat provide the same color selection. The distinctive Cyber Orange color is available on the XLT trim level, but only after purchasing an additional package. However, more packets are unnecessary at this stage for Hot Pepper Red and Cactus Gray.

Interior

The Ranger will be available with a six-speed manual gearbox in most markets, but you can count on only a ten-speed automatic transmission in the United States. Ford also mentioned the new truck’s hydroformed front-end structure, which makes room for the V6 and will “future-proof the Ranger for various propulsion technologies,” presumably referring to electrified variants.
The Ranger ought to be available in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. The 3.5-liter 4WD automatic Tacoma comes close to the Ranger in terms of performance and gets an EPA-estimated 18/22/20 mpg. The Honda Ridgeline is also an option because of its potent 3.5-liter engine and respectable 18/24/21 mpg fuel economy.
2024 Ford Ranger Release Date and Price
The starting price of the 2024 Ford Ranger is $25,285; this places it in the middle of the compact pickup truck price range. Prices go up to $29,335 for the intermediate XLT trim and $33,375 for the top-of-the-line Lariat model. The 2024 Ford Ranger is anticipated to be available in the United States sometime around the summer.
