2024 Ford Transit Van Interior, Engine, Dimensions – The 2024 Ford Transit boasts the most sought-after skill set among full-size vans. As with Ford’s primary competitors, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and the Ram ProMaster, it is highly configurable and quite capable. In addition to differing roof heights and wheelbases, the Transit is available in cargo, crew, and passenger configurations. Either a 275-hp V-6 or a 310-hp twin-turbo V-6 provides propulsion. The transit station wagon can accommodate up to 15 passengers. The van’s interior is sleek and modern, drawing inspiration from the Ford Explorer. At highway speeds, the interior of the Transit is quiet, insulating passengers from road noise. The standard Transit includes a four-speaker sound system, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, and a 4.0-inch multi-function touchscreen. All versions have a Wi-Fi hotspot that enables passengers to stay connected easily. An 8.0-inch display screen, combined navigation, Sirius XM satellite radio, and Android Auto/CarPlay smartphone connectivity are available extras.
Depending on your configuration, the Ford Transit’s cargo capacity varies significantly between its numerous forms. Behind the fourth row of the shorter van with the low roof, space ranges from 39.1 cubic feet to 461.9 cubic feet behind the first row of the long-bodied version. This most extended version still provides a generous 100,5 cubes behind its fifth row. Regular wheelbase vehicles can carry up to 2,918 pounds of cargo, while the most capable van can transport up to 3,494 pounds. Engine
The Ford Transit is available with two engine options. The standard engine is a 3.5-liter V-6 with naturally aspirated 275 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. A turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 with 310 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque is also available. Both machines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and purchasers can select between rear-or all-wheel drive. The Transit is qualified for towing up to 7,500 pounds. The Mercedes Sprinter has a special cargo carrying capacity. Our test Transit, with a turbocharged V-6, reached 60 miles per hour in 6.8 seconds. This caused it faster than the Nissan NV we evaluated, which completed the sprint in 7.5 seconds.
