Ford Bronco Raptor 2024 Engine, Changes, Release Date – The Ford Bronco Raptor 2024 is enhanced in performance compared to the standard Bronco in acceleration, rock climbing, and altitude. Ford used the same basic formula for the extremely fun and versatile F-150 Raptor pickup. The ultimate Bronco has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 that produces 418 horsepower, a unique long-travel suspension, massive 37-inch tires, and a host of other off-roading features. The 2024 Bronco Raptor is easily distinguishable from other vehicles thanks to its unique design cues, such as its oversized fender flares and grille that feature amber lighting. With the wide variety of available add-ons, owners can make their vehicles even more unique. The Raptor’s price tag is much higher than a regular Bronco’s, but true fans can’t get enough of the vehicle’s incredible speed.
We can’t wait to pit the 470-horsepower Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 against the brand-new 2024 Bronco Raptor. For now, only one Bronco Raptor trim is available, and it comes only in the four-door configuration. The base cost for a Ford F-150 Raptor is around $67,000, but the Bronco Raptor already has 37-inch tires. Spend a minimum of $78,470 to have them installed on your pickup. Ford claims that customers who have already placed orders for the standard Bronco can switch to the Raptor when deliveries begin this summer.
Ford Bronco Raptor 2024 Redesign
Ford nailed the design of the new Bronco, and the Raptor version is just as good-looking. The Bronco’s extra nine and a half inches of track width aren’t there for show, but they give the vehicle confidence and stability. The other changes made are functional, but the design is excellent. There’s no mistaking that this is a Raptor model thanks to the large wheel arches, heat-molding compound fender flares that bolt on, heat extraction ducts on the body sides, and hood bulge. Tow hooks, removable Rigid LED fog lamps and Rigid off-road lamps, removable end caps, and quickly removable running boards all come standard on the new modular front bumper, which also conceals the vehicle’s standard reinforced rock rails. Rubber is as important as the shoes used by Usain Bolt or the boots worn by a mountain climber. Two different 17″ x 8.5″ Beadlock-capable wheels are wrapped in 37″ BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. As a bonus, history-themed “Easter eggs” can be found if you look closely.
The new Ford Bronco’s stylish exterior design would be incomplete without a selection of exciting colors, and fortunately, Ford has provided 11 excellent options. The $295 base model prices vary depending on whether you go with Shadow Black, Oxford White, Antimatter Blue, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Velocity Blue, or Rapid Red. Additional colors are included in the Big Bend package, including Cactus Gray, Area 51, and Race Red. For an extra $595, you can get the sweet Cyber Orange tri-coat on the Black Diamond trim, and the First Edition comes in a total of just five colors, one of which is lightning blue. The Bronco can be customized almost indefinitely because it has many trims and paint jobs.
The Raptor’s cabin is very similar to that of the Bronco, except for high-bolster front seats, a different steering wheel, paddle shifters, and simple access to the Raptor’s unique features. A lot of planning and design was put into the interior, and the vinyl used for the standard seats and touchpoints is a shining example of this. Ford advertises it as marine-grade vinyl, but marine vinyl is primarily concerned with weather resistance because it is rarely used on boats. The materials designer at Ford had to make some adjustments so that the cars could withstand being handled frequently and the weather. Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment system runs a 12-inch touchscreen in the center stack. The Bronco Raptor-specific Performance View digital gauge cluster focuses on the tachometer and gear readings.
After spending more than 10 hours in them over two days (on the road and otherwise), we can attest that the new Raptor-specific seats are pretty pleasant. Even though we were thrown around more than we would have liked, we didn’t feel as unsafe as we might have thought from their appearance alone. However, the seats were the source of much consternation. Seats without ventilation were an odd omission from a truck meant to spend days in the desert heat. The dirt would get stuck in the perforations in the upholstery, and they could be cleaned as is, but this isn’t a mud-crawler. The interior was a nice place to relax and enjoy the ride. It has excellent visibility until you turn around, but since the roof can be removed, you’ll need to mount the third brake light over the spare tire. Carpet flooring instead of rubberized washout flooring is available, as are seats upholstered in laser-perforated Black Onyx Neo suede, a vinyl-wrapped instrument panel topper, leather-wrapped outer seat bolsters, and a center console armrest. The ten-speaker B&O sound system is an optional extra that is recommended.
The 2024 Bronco Raptor is powered by a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with twin turbocharging that has been fine-tuned for this SUV and now produces 418 horsepower and 448 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed SelectShift transmission is in charge of directing the power, and it can be set for two-wheel drive high, four-wheel drive high, or four-wheel movement low. The Bronco has a tow mode and can carry 4,500 pounds without issue, as well as take its driver and passengers across rough terrain or crawl slowly over substantial obstacles. The Goes Over Any Terrain (GOAT) modes are what most people care about. Seven in total, with one being specific to the Bronco Raptor. Selectable exhaust settings include “Normal,” “Sport,” “Quiet,” and “Baja,” the latter of which displays a stern warning that it is not for street use. Baja mode incorporates the GT supercar’s anti-lag calibration for the turbos, allowing maximum power on high-speed runs. Just call it “Loud Mode” if you like.
We arranged to meet the following day in Johnson Valley, and I should emphasize that the area is no laughing matter. Especially during the warmer months. The cooling system would be put to the test by the scorching heat, the suspension would be put to the test by the rock-strewn paths, the tires and all-wheel-drive system would be put to the test by the sand and silt, and our sphincters would be put to the test by certain downhill areas. Interestingly, the part that required focus, strict throttle control, and precise tire placement didn’t come until much later, after the steep sandy and rocky drops and rock crawling. The Ford Performance Team went out and extensively field-tested the Bronco Raptor. It is a place where the slightest vulnerability will be exposed and broken.
