Ford F-150 Raptor 2024 Models, Specs, Release Date

Posted on September 4, 2022

Ford F-150 Raptor 2024 Models, Specs, Release Date – The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor is a SCORE off-road prize vehicle in a world of pavement. It has a Baja race truck’s stance, fenders, suspension, tires, and attitude to match. In 2024, the Raptor will still be powered primarily by a twin-turbo 450-hp V-6 mated to a 10-speed automated transmission. The 702-horsepower Ram TRX will finally have something to sneer at, as the wild and powerful Raptor R will arrive in 2024 with a variant of the Mustang Shelby GT500’s supercharged 5.2-liter V-8.

The Raptor has 37-inch BFGoodrich K02 tires as standard equipment, while the twin-turbo V-6 vehicles have 35-inch tires with the option of upgrading to 37s. It may be one of the most significant pickups on the market, but the Raptor offers one of the comfiest rides we’ve ever encountered. The long-travel suspension is amazingly soft and forgiving over ordinary potholes and bumpy pavement since it is engineered to absorb the bumps, dips, and leaps of high-speed off-roading. The Raptor might have more trouble getting down a narrow road or into a parking spot than climbing over rocks and dunes.

Ford F-150 Raptor 2024 Redesign

Considering how badass the “basic” 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor currently looks, we can only picture what the “ultimate” Raptor R would look like. For 2024, the exterior comes standard with LED headlights, a remote tailgate release, LED box lighting, a special Raptor-style grille, and 17-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires. The heated power-folding side mirrors are an excellent addition to a car of this width. Big, beefy 37-inch tires are an available extra. Folding truck box bed extenders, a Raptor Graphics package, and a dual-pane sunroof are some of the other options. No matter what trim level they are, Ford Raptor pickups are sure to get noticed wherever they go.

With a total length of 231.7 inches, the F-150 Raptor is the most extended vehicle in the segment of light-duty trucks. Without the side mirrors, the width measures 79.5 inches. The Raptor F-150 has a cab height of 77. The Raptor is limited to just one body style, the SuperCrew with a 5.5-foot bed, unlike the standard F-150’s several configurations. Ford offers prospective purchasers a choice of seven bold hues designed to accentuate the Raptor’s aggressive good looks. The Agate Black Metallic paint job on the Raptor is stunning, but our favorite color choice is the bluer Antimatter Blue Metallic or Atlas Blue Metallic. To best highlight, the Raptor’s muscular build, lighter colors like Iconic Silver Metallic and Oxford White should be used. Rapid Red Metallic is the only extra that can be added for $495, and Code Orange Metallic might be the most noticeable.

Interior

Inside, the Raptor is just as comfortable and roomy as any other F-150 SuperCrew. The high-performance model has a larger trunk and what Ford calls “nicer materials,” in addition to a standard 12.0-inch digital instrument cluster. Laser-etched branding and a new orange marker at noon on the new wheel are just two updates, with the same prominent aluminum paddle shifters hiding out of sight below the spokes. Aluminum trim is standard inside the Raptor, but carbon-fiber accents and more full Recaro front buckets can be added as options. Right now, the high-flying pickup isn’t available in the extended cab (or SuperCab) body style. The SuperCrew crew cab model, at least, has more room in the back than the regular cab. A cargo crate of about 5.5 feet in length goes with it.

The Raptor’s standard Sync 4 infotainment system is supported by a massive 12.0-inch touchscreen that takes up much of the dash space. It has built-in wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and the ability to use Amazon Alexa and get software upgrades automatically. In addition to the steering-wheel-mounted controls and voice commands, we also like that Ford installed actual volume and tuning knobs. The 18-speaker B&O sound system is available for those who want to upgrade their listening experience. A mobile generator with a power output of 2.0 kW can be installed in the Raptor’s cargo area. This generator can be used to power tools and other electrical devices.

Engine

The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor is equipped with the standard EcoBoost V6 engine. All four wheels receive power from this engine through a ten-speed automatic transmission. With 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque accessible at 3,000 rpm, this engine isn’t exactly a powerhouse by today’s standards. These numbers are unchanged from the previous truck, but Ford has reworked the torque curve to provide greater oomph at low RPMs, which should boost the vehicle’s off-road prowess—because of this, driving the truck is now much more straightforward, even in heavy traffic. Even when pressed hard, the ten-speed automatic transmission responds smoothly and quickly. Thanks to a new three-inch equal-length exhaust system with a modified X-pipe, Ford has given the truck a more macho voice, which is much appreciated. The unique exhaust sound on the Raptor is much scarier and adds to the badass image of the car. The Raptor is fantastic on the highway and off-road; this F-150’s acceleration is so impressive that it will blow your mind even on the roughest terrain.

What do you get when you put a 6,000-pound truck with a 450-horsepower turbocharged V6 engine in it? Inefficient use of fuel. The EPA estimates the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor’s city/highway/combined mpg to be a heartbreaking 15/18/16. Fuel economy drops to 15/16/15 mpg if you choose the 37-inch wheel package. The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor has a 36-gallon fuel capacity in extended range standard, allowing it to travel 576 miles before refueling (assuming normal driving conditions). Although the Ram TRX has much greater power, it will only achieve 10/14/12 mpg.

2024 Ford F-150 Raptor Release Date and Price

As the adage goes, “You gotta pay to play,” Ford asks for $69,905 before you can get after the wheel of this off-road toy. The MSRP does not include the $1,795 destination charge, tax, and registration. The base price of a 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor is expected to exceed $70,000 after the addition of a few options and options that are likely to be added by most buyers. With everything included, the top end of the pricing range will be over $85,000. The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor is scheduled for a U.S. summer release.
