New 2024 Ford Maverick Pick-Up Truck AWD, Release Date – If you need a tiny pickup truck, the 2024 Ford Maverick SuperCrew will give you plenty of options, including the Hyundai Santa Cruz Crew Cab. Three trim levels are available, ranging from an MSRP of $21,490 for the basic XL to an MSRP of $27,355 for the highest-end Lariat. There’s a Maverick for every taste and budget, thanks to the wide variety of body designs and engine configurations offered. The Maverick SuperCrew comes with two exciting engine options, one of which is only available with front-wheel drive, while the other is available with both front-and all-wheel drive.
The standard powertrain is a 2.5-liter inline-4 paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that generates 191 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. The maximum load that this motor may tow is 2,000 pounds. A 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 paired with an 8-Speed Automatic transmission is the second option, producing 250 horsepower and towing up to 4,000 pounds.

The door and tailgate handle on the standard trim is black, and the Lariat gets a body-color upgrade for those spots. The baseline XL has LED headlights but only comes with 17-inch steel wheels. The XLT rolls on 17-inch alloys, while the Lariat has 18-inches; the First Edition Package adds black wheels. The Flex system from Ford and the six-bed tie-downs are convenient additions for transporting and stowing stuff. A power moonroof, cargo bed liner, tonneau cover, and pickup box extension are all available as add-ons.
The Maverick comes in seven different base colors. Velocity Blue, Iconic Silver, Iconic Black, Cactus Gray, Carbonized Gray, Iconic White, and Shadow Black. Ford’s base trim includes these hues at no extra cost, further demonstrating the car’s value. The Alto Blue Metallic ($390), Cyber Orange Metallic ($495), and Hot Pepper Metallic ($390) are new to the XLT’s more colorful palette. To get Rapid Red Metallic on the Lariat, you’ll need to go for the Lariat and First Edition packages and the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, which adds a hefty sum to the bill. Since Ford provides a wide variety of exciting hues, there may be fewer light vehicles on the road.
The backseats of all Mavericks are very large, and the vehicles have four full-size doors thanks to their standard configuration as crew cabs. Ford has equipped the cabin with several compartments for stowing items, including a sizable space behind the back seat. Even the most basic trims come with features like a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel with audio controls, keyless entry, and front seats with adjustable lumbar support, so it’s not like you have to pay extra for any of the comforts you need. There is a 12-volt power plug built into the bed, with an additional 110-volt outlet available. All Maverick models come equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Even the cheapest model has a Wi-Fi hotspot and is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Extras include a SiriusXM satellite radio update, a B&O Play sound system update, and wireless phone charging.
The first of two different powertrain options are available for the new Maverick, the first of which is a hybrid. Only at 4,000 rpm does the four-cylinder engine reach its maximum torque. This model comes standard with a CVT and is pretty smooth and quiet. Although purists in the pickup truck community would scoff at a hybrid truck equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the Maverick is surprisingly adept in urban environments. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine is the best choice for those who prefer brisk acceleration or all-wheel drive availability. It generates 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. It’s combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and delivers significantly more rapid acceleration. The eight-speed information operates smoothly and swaps gears promptly whenever acceleration is called for. The EcoBoost is noticeably faster than the other option, but when driven aggressively, it makes a loud noise, while the hybrid engine is quiet and peaceful.

Including the $1,495 destination fee, the primary XL hybrid costs just $19,995. Add $1,085 for the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine or $3,305 for AWD and the EcoBoost engine. The costs associated with adding the EcoBoost engine or the EcoBoost with All-Wheel Drive are equivalent to those of the XL trim level. The XLT, in the middle of the range, can be had for $22,280, while the Lariat, with all the bells and whistles, can be had for $25,490. The Ford Maverick will debut in the United States in the summer of 2023.
