New 2024 Ford Ranger Colors, Engine, Release Date – Ford’s midsize Ranger pickup vehicle will be revamped for the 2024 model year. It sports a more robust front-end style influenced by the bigger F-150. While Ford has announced it will sell the new Ranger with a turbodiesel V-6 in select areas, we assume the American version will be powered by the same turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine as the current vehicle, with rear-wheel drive as usual. A four-wheel drive method is optional, and we may see a hybrid powertrain option enter the roster too—but we’re most enthused about the idea of a high-performance Raptor edition. A four-door crew cab and a two-rear-half-door extended cab option will be available. The inside gets a similar facelift, with a vast, vertically-oriented infotainment system similar to what’s seen in the Edge SUV.
The 2024 Ford Ranger SuperCrew is in the same market as the Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab, Honda Ridgeline Crew Cab, and Jeep Gladiator Crew Cab, which are also midsize pickup trucks. This engine develops 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, generating a 0-60 time of 6.5 seconds, and is supplied as both a rear-wheel-drive and a 4-wheel-drive. The base price of $27,000 includes a 2.3L Turbocharged Inline-4 engine and a 10-Speed Automatic transmission. However, this is the only drivetrain available across all three trim levels, even though the price goes up to $40,000. The Ford Ranger SuperCrew provides a single 5’1″ cab with a payload capacity of 1,860 pounds. It also boasts an excellent towing capability of 7,500 pounds.

New 2024 Ford Ranger Redesign
The Ranger is offered in three trim levels and two body types. Ford names the 2-door extended cab the SuperCab, whereas the crew cab, or 4-door Ford Ranger, is dubbed the SuperCrew. The extended cab has two doors and a six-foot bed, while the four-door crew cab has a five-foot bed. The entry-level XL sports black plastic bumpers, tire arches, door handles, mirrors, and a black grille, combined with 16-inch steel wheels. The XLT adds body-color bumpers and hooks, along with 17-inch alloys. The Lariat is the highest trim level, and it comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, a model-specific grille, and LED lighting all around. Standard safety features include driver and front passenger airbags, seat-mounted side airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, load limiting retractors, driver-seat position sensing and crash severity sensing, side intrusion door beams, tire pressure monitoring, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS), and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control.
The Ranger’s dimensions are variant-specific, like those of any other pickup. The bed length of the Ford Ranger 4-door SuperCab is 6 feet. The 4×2 models measure 70.75 inches in height, while the 4×4 versions measure 71.1 inches. There is a total of 44.8 inches between the two ends of the bed (its narrowest point) and 61.4 inches (its broadest point), and the bed stands 20.8 inches tall. It can hold up to 51.8 cubic feet of cargo. The SuperCrew 4×4 comes in at 71.1 inches tall when equipped with four wheels or 71.5 inches when using all four. It has four doors and a shorter than the average five-foot bed (61 inches). The bed is 20.8 inches high, but otherwise, the dimensions are the same as the SuperCab. Cargo volume, however, is 43.3 cubic feet because of its shorter length. The maximum size for any Ranger is 210.8 inches, and the full width is 73.3 inches (not including mirrors). All Ranger models have the same standard wheelbase length of 126.8 inches. The ground clearance on the 4×2 vehicles is 8.4 inches, while on the 4×4 variants, it is 8.9 inches.
Similar to the XLT, the Lariat comes in a variety of colors. There are eight available hues for the standard XL Super Cab. This group includes Race Red, Hot Pepper Red (with the STX Appearance package), Velocity Blue, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Cactus Gray (with the STX Appearance package), and Oxford White, and Shadow Black. Cyber Orange is a unique addition to the mid-tier XLT model, but it is only available with the purchase of a separate package. However, more packets are unnecessary at this stage for Hot Pepper Red and Cactus Gray.

Interior
The newest Ford Ranger, which debuted in the United States in 2019, has been on sale internationally since 2011, and its advanced age is readily apparent inside. Rough, low-quality plastics dominate the inside, and the design is old-fashioned and uninspired. The body panels are thick and look like they’ll stand up well to daily usage and damage, but they don’t help the Ranger look much more fashionable than, say, a brand new, high-end Hyundai Santa Cruz.
You can choose between two different audio systems in the 2024 Ranger. A typical arrangement includes a 3.5-inch screen and other tactile buttons and knobs. There isn’t much to this system, and it doesn’t do much. However, the worst part is that it isn’t exactly user-friendly. Our advice is to get the giant touchscreen you can afford, which is 8 inches. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two of the most popular ways to connect a smartphone, are built into the system. The menus stand easy to use, and the design is responsive, so you can use it even while driving.

Engine
The 2.3-liter Ford engine is an excellent propulsion system. It was once installed in the high-performance Focus RS and now propels the entry-level Mustang. Depending on how you set it up, it can do a lot of different things. As installed in the Ranger, it generates 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. We prioritized its low-end oomph and saw its potential for speed as a bonus. For some, the lack of a manual transmission is a dealbreaker. Given what this car would be used for most, the automatic transmission does make more sense, though, when off-roading or pulling a trailer, changing gears is one less thing to worry about. The Ranger might be reluctant to downshift in Sport mode, but that’s hardly the point of a pickup. The engine and transmission of the Ranger seem to be up to the task of driving on the highway or pulling a heavy load.
The Environmental Protection Agency predicts that Ford’s rear-wheel-drive Ranger pickup will get 21/26/23 mpg in city, highway, and combined driving. The EPA estimates 20/24/22 mpg for the base 4×4 and 19/19/19 mpg for the 4×4 with the Tremor package. The least efficient Tacoma is powered by a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that lacks a turbocharger and produces just 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. This model comes close to the Ranger’s EPA ratings, achieving 20/23/21 mpg in 2WD form. The EPA estimates 18/22/20 mpg for the 3.5-liter Tacoma 4WD automatic, bringing its performance considerably closer to Rangers. The Honda Ridgeline is another viable option; it has a powerful 3.5-liter engine and gets 18/24/21 mpg while being surprisingly fuel-efficient.
New 2024 Ford Ranger Release Date and Price
The starting price of the 2024 Ford Ranger is $25,285, which is on par with other vehicles in its class. The XLT trim level ($29,335) and the Lariat trim level ($33,375) have price increases. The 2024 Ford Ranger is scheduled to debut in the summer of that year in the United States.
