With the Limited Stealth Performance Package and 93 octane fuel, the high-output version of the engine in the Limited can produce 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. Both the rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems in the Expedition Max receive power from the V6 through a ten-speed automatic transmission. The engine and transmission work harmoniously to provide robust and smooth acceleration responses regardless of speed. The Expedition Max can pull trailers that weigh up to 9,000 pounds if it has the optional heavy-duty trailer towing package.
Since the Expedition Max is built to carry eight people and a substantial cargo, it is not surprising that it does not achieve good fuel economy. The EPA estimates 16/23/19 mpg for the city/highway/combined fuel economy when the V6 and transmission power the Expedition Max’s RWD system. When you add the all-wheel-drive system, your mpg drops to 16/21/18. To put it mildly, this is not as good as the typical Expedition. A full gas tank in Max’s 27.8-gallon tank should get you about 528 miles of driving in the SUV’s RWD configuration.
New Ford Expedition Max 2024 Release Date and Price
Ford offers the XL trim for around $54,650, but the XLT, the entry-level model for most consumers, has a starting MSRP of $58,685. The base price of a 2024 Ford Expedition Max Limited is $67,835; however, the high output twin-turbo V6 requires the additional purchase of the Stealth Performance Equipment Group, which costs $9,540. The sticker price for a King Ranch model is $79,355. Prices start at $80,805 for the top-of-the-line Max Platinum. The addition of 4×4 will cost an additional $3,050. The $1,795 destination fee and the $645 acquisition fee are not included in any listed prices. The 2024 Ford Expedition Max is scheduled to debut in the United States in the summer of that year.
