The New Ford Edge ST 2024 Redesign, Colors, Images – Does it make sense to squeeze a powerful engine into a midsize crossover designed for families? These vehicles are the Swiss Army knives of the automobile industry, and none is more versatile than the Ford Edge ST. In school run mode, the 2024 Ford Edge ST is a comfy cruiser with Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 driving assistance technologies and an IIHS Top Safety Pick rating. After dropping off the children, you can unleash the full ferocity of the V6 engine and standard all-wheel drive. Okay, maybe 335 horsepower isn’t as ferocious as it once was, but it’s better than a sluggish minivan. The Edge ST enables you to obtain more from life. It has room for the kids and can reach 60 miles per hour in less than six seconds. Compared to mundane mid-sizers like the Chevrolet Blazer and Honda Passport, it reminds you that you can be a family man or woman and still enjoy driving.
For the 2024 model year, the lower-tier Edge models have received a few updates in the form of new packages, while the ST remains unchanged. Aside from a few additional dealer-installed optional items, such as a center console-mounted safe and new paint color, “Forged Green,” everything else remains the same. It does, however, incur a $660 price increase.

The New Ford Edge ST 2024 Redesign
Ford has not gone overboard with the exterior design of the ST. Just enough to let other parents in the school parking lot know that your crossover is faster and thus superior. Upgrades for the ST include 20-inch alloy wheels, a black hexagonal mesh grille, fake vents, LED headlights and taillights, dual exhaust pipes, front and rear lower fascias in the same color as the body, and a phony diffuser.
The Edge ST is a large crossover with a length of 188.8 inches and a wheelbase of 112.2 inches. It is 68.3 inches tall and has a ground clearance of 8.2 inches. The width excludes the mirrors and measures 75.9 inches. The standard Edge has a maximum weight of 4,122 pounds, while the ST weighs in at 4,515 pounds, a considerable increase. This weight differential is primarily attributable to the heavier V6 engine placed in the ST versus the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the standard Edge.
There are seven color options available, five of which are free. The latter two are new for 2024. Rapid Red ($495) and Star White ($795) are additional charges. The colors Ford Performance Blue and Lithium Gray have been removed from the 2024 palette. The 21-inch gloss-black alloy wheels are a $995 add-on, but to have them installed, you must order an additional options package that costs around $5,000. Thus, the total cost of 21-inch alloy wheels is approximately $6000.

Interior
The cabin of the Edge is roomy enough for four adults and is a pleasant place for commuting or road trips. The home materials are high quality, but the panel fit and finish may be improved; our test vehicle had a few misaligned dashboard components. The interior design is simple and unobtrusive, with ample space for passengers and baggage. If storing items in the trunk is crucial to you, the section of two-row crossovers is ideal. The Edge accommodated 29 of our carry-on luggage when the rear seats were folded down. Its load space is comparable to its rivals, but the Edge’s clever storage cubbies and larger cabin may seal the deal. All Edge models have Ford’s most recent Sync 4A software interface and a 12.0-inch touchscreen display. CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard and can function wirelessly. Ford offers Wi-Fi hotspots on all Edge models, although navigation remains an optional extra.
The front seats of the ST are beautifully made and offer enough support for fast driving while leaving enough room for passengers in the back. The Edge is a five-seater, but the middle seat in the back may be too cramped for an adult on a lengthy trip. The front seats are electrically adjustable in ten ways, and the driver’s seat has a memory feature. Even though we dislike the location of the center console’s buttons, it’s important to note that they’re easy to reach and adjust without taking your eyes off the road: the front legroom measures 42,6 inches, and the rear legroom measures 40,6 inches. The ample front headroom is 40.2 inches, while the rear headroom measures 40.3 inches. In most vehicles, large bucket seats reduce rear legroom, but this is not the case with the Edge ST.

Engine
The Ford Edge ST is powered by a different turbocharged 2.0-liter engine than the rest of the lineup. You get a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 engine with 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission transfers power to an all-wheel-drive system. It’s a great powerplant, but you must ask if the weight penalty over a conventional vehicle is worth it. According to Ford, the ST can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than six seconds. Therefore, the enhanced power is sufficient to overcome the added weight.
Power is meaningless without control, and the ST is much more than a larger engine and some ST badges. The ST is still a lofty vehicle, which can be felt through turns. Nonetheless, the improved suspension does an excellent job of minimizing body lean. The ST is more enjoyable than the standard model but does not provide laugh-out-loud moments behind the wheel. The Edge ST can tow up to 3,500 pounds in terms of practical features. With two additional cylinders, it is no surprise that the ST is the most miniature fuel-efficient Edge model. It is estimated to achieve 19/25/21 mpg city, highway, and combined. Comparatively, the 2.0-liter turbocharged Edge achieves 20/28/23 mpg. Comparing the numbers reveals a difference, but it is not large enough to discourage eco-conscious folks. The 18.5-gallon tank of the Edge should allow you 388 miles between fill-ups.
